Map Reading and Compass Practice Day
Have you become a little rusty, been unable to practice or just plain forgot? ‘Yes’
- then this course is just right for you. Especially for those people who have completed
one of our Navigator Level 1 or 2 courses or have reached an equivalent standard
and would like to increase their working knowledge.
The best way to enhance your map and compass skills is to actually get out into the
“Great Outdoors” and use them! The Compassworks team have designed this totally
outdoor, relaxed fun day, with an Instructor on hand, to iron out any problems you
may have. It will be a great opportunity to discuss with others the techniques involved

6 - 8 kilometres over semi rough open moorland, at various locations on Dartmoor.
All navigational equipment is provided. Participants will need to bring suitable
clothing and footwear for outdoor work.
